Earlier in the week a Belton family were hit by a house fire. Luckily no-one was hurt (including the family dog) but all of their belongings were destroyed in the blaze.

The local community have rallied together to offer help and support to the family, including Moorlands Church of England Primary Academy where one member of the family, attends school.

Tweeting about the incident yesterday morning, the Moorlands twitter page called for help to replace Sonny's book collection. Responses have flooded in from publishers such as DK Books, Scholastic and Bloomsbury, as well as other kind individuals offering to send books.

Additionally, well-known author Anthony Horowitz has already contacted the school and sent the pupil a collection of the Alex Rider series to enjoy.

For further information contact the school or visit the DNEAT academies twitter.
