We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and committed Head of School to replace our existing post holder who has secured a promotion in another local academy trust.

Colkirk Church of England Primary Academy is a friendly village school which is part of the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT). It is part of the Unity federation of Church of England Primary Academies along with West Raynham and Sculthorpe Church of England Primary Academies and Little Snoring Community Primary Academy. Our federation is well established and regarded in Norfolk. We like to innovate and look across Norfolk and beyond for ideas!

Colkirk was recently rated as good in a short inspection (September 2018) with the recognition it had made significant progress since the last inspection. Colkirk is 10 minutes from Fakenham, 25 minutes from Kings Lynn and 45 minutes from Norwich.

The Head of School will have 50% not contact time to run the day-to-day matters of this highly successful academy, which is every afternoon. A 50% teaching commitment is in a very small EYFS/KS1 class of 15 pupils, with a full time HLTA and part time TA to support. ALL CLASSES AT COLKIRK CE PRIMARY ACADEMY ARE LESS THAN 20 CHILDREN.

The Head of School will be part of a supportive federation Senior Leadership team, consisting of the Executive Head, 4 Heads of School and Federation Business Manager. We work closely with our MAT school improvement link (AGEP) who is another source of support for the person appointed to this role. Opportunities for further leadership development are possible through our multi academy trust. A mentor will also be provided for the successful applicant.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has strong experience in working with children aged 4-5 years.

- Has experience with EYFS Moderation, Yr1 Phonics and Yr2 SATs moderation (not essential as training and support offered.)

- Is committed to their own professional development.

- Has experience in leadership and is willing to lead and drive school improvement with support.

- Will promote Christian Values and uphold the Christian ethos of the academy and DNEAT.

A full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate and other procedures and checks will be followed. The successful applicant will be required to complete a decalration form under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations.
