The Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT) have an immediate vacancy for an experienced Finance Officer for the Finance team. The role has been created as a result of the continued growth of this young and vibrant organisation.
DNEAT is a fast growing multi academy trust serving predominantly primary schools across Norfolk. The successful applicant will be based at their head office at Easton on the outskirts of Norwich just off the A47.
The Finance Officer will be a proactive central DNEAT member providing accountancy and business support to DNEAT academies, the DNEAT Finance Controller on the most effective and efficient use of academy resources and funding, in line with the DNEAT’s finance policy and government and statutory accounting requirements but always with a direct link to outcomes for our children at all times.
To be considered for this role you will need a minimum of 5 GCSE grade C and above including Mathematics and English or equivalent. Ideally you will also be either AAT qualified, or working towards this or some other accounting qualification. You will have practical experience of using a computerised financial accounting system for recording income and expenditure transactions, processing journals, processing payments to suppliers and an understanding of double entry book-keeping.
Practical experience of setting up spreadsheets to analyse information and perform complex calculations will be expected as will an understanding of internal financial control principles and the management of the public purse. Ideally, you will also be familiar with education or not for profit financial governance. Naturally, you will have experience of writing clear business English for business-critical situations and be a good communicator over the phone.
The role carries a starting salary of £20,500 to £23,250 per annum for the right person.
