Type: 17.5 hours per week across our three academies.
Length: 1 year initial contract
Unity Federation is formed from three primary academies, 2 of which are Church of England academies and one is a Community academy. Unity federation is part of the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT). The federation’s vision is Have Faith, Flourish and Fly High. Part of achieving the best for the pupils and families in our care is offering support to them in a pastoral role. All schools are judged to be good by Ofsted (Colkirk Jan 2019, Sculthorpe March 2018 and Little Snoring June 2015) All of our academies are situated around Fakenham, which is 20 minutes from King’s Lynn and 30 minutes from Norwich.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in working with children aged 4-11 years.
- Has experience in working with children and families in a pastoral way. This can include well-being, mental health or other forms of pastoral support.
- Is able to work in more than one setting, with several supportive teams.
- Is able to build on solid relationships we have with parents, outside agencies and support services.
- Is committed to their own professional development.
- Can work independently when needed, be creative, enthusiastic and can prioritise their resource fairly across our academies.
- Will promote Christian Values of our federation and also the values of our community academy, as well as and uphold the ethos of our multi academy trust – DNEAT.

• Full DSL training, induction and regular supervision, including NVQs to develop your role further in the future.
The PSA hours will be 20 hours per week, ideally split across each academy. This will be to develop coffee mornings / surgeries for parent, lead Family Support Processes, co-ordinate referrals to external agencies and offer some training and support to our families in need. A close working relationship with the Executive Head and Head of Schools for each academy is essential.
Unity Federation and each academy in it is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate and other procedures and checks will be followed.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations.
