New appointment as Executive Headteacher joins north Norfolk school

November 15, 2023

Mrs Rebekah Woodrow has been appointed Executive Headteacher of St Mary Federation of Docking and Brancaster Primary Academies, part of Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT).

Coming from another DNEAT-run academy, she is very happy to be taking on the Executive Headteacher role in north Norfolk.

On her new appointment she said: “Being part of DNEAT has provided me with fantastic opportunities to progress in my career. I am thrilled to have been appointed as the Executive Headteacher and feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to continue leading two such delightful village schools. Since starting here in April, I have been made to feel so welcome by the staff, parents, pupils and the local community. Having worked in this role in an interim capacity, I have a good understanding of the strengths of each school and I am very excited to take them on the next part of their journey, building on previous success and helping every child to reach their full potential.”

Rebekah completed her teacher training at Homerton, University of Cambridge. She has worked in three different Norfolk Primary schools in a number of different roles, her previous role was at another DNEAT school, (Whitefriars Church of England Primary Academy), where she worked as an Assistant Headteacher.

Oliver Burwood, CEO of DNEAT said: “Rebekah Woodrow has really impressed us with what she has achieved at St Mary Federation in a relatively short time as temporary Executive Headteacher.  Her permanent appointment is another important sign that DNEAT is successfully growing its own fantastic leaders. Rebekah has come from another successful DNEAT academy where she was Assistant Headteacher and her dynamism and wider experience mean that we believe the future of this Federation looks very bright.”
