DNEAT Year 6 Pupils celebrate in song
The Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust believe that all children should have access to a rich variety of cultural experiences, including visits and visitors that bring students into contact with art, music, performance, a wide range of religious and cultural practises and opportunities to create, engage and reflect. The Big Sing is the epitome of these beliefs.
The songs that, such as 'Believe' and 'Stronger Together' followed a clear and inspirational theme of friendship, team work and spirituality, which was emphasised further by 'Memories of Primary School'. This thoughtful, and slightly comical, segment of the event was led by 12, very brave year 6 pupils who recalled stories of how their DNEAT academy had shaped their lives so far and what they would miss most as they moved up to high school.
The event ended with the Bishop of Norwich recounting his own experiences of transition, but how the friendship and foundations of primary school help you along the way, finishing the event with a well-deserved 'three cheers' for the day's proceedings.
A very big thank you to all year 6 pupils and academy staff members for filling the Open Venue with their enthusiasm for music and wonderful dance moves.
