Hopton’s Pride Picnic: A Celebration of Community and Inclusion
September 16, 2025

On Thursday 26th June, Hopton CofE Primary Academy came together in vibrant style to celebrate Pride Month with a joyful school picnic on the field. The event was more than just a picnic—it was a powerful display of unity, acceptance, and community spirit.
Under a sunny sky, students and staff gathered with blankets, packed lunches, and lots of energy. The sound of uplifting music filled the air, creating a festive atmosphere where everyone felt welcome and included. From laughter and dancing to thoughtful conversations and colourful displays, the afternoon was filled with positive vibes and meaningful moments.
Pride at Hopton is about showing kindness, fairness, and respect to all—regardless of our differences. Thursday’s event reminded us that diversity is something to be celebrated, not hidden. It gave students a chance to express themselves, support one another, and reflect on the importance of being true to who we are.
Throughout the field, Pride flags were waved high—each colour carrying its own special meaning. Red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for peace, and purple for spirit. These colours created a beautiful symbol of hope and unity, reinforcing our school’s values and commitment to inclusion.
Hopton’s Pride Picnic was a heartfelt success, reminding us that love and respect should always be louder than hate or fear. A huge thank you goes to the staff and student leaders who helped organise such a memorable event. Moments like these show that when we come together in celebration and understanding, we make our school—and the world—a better, brighter place.
