Swaffham C of E Primary Academy opens its brand new nursery
September 30, 2025
Swaffham CofE Primary Academy are very excited this week as they open their brand new nursery for 3 and 4 year olds! Their school has been on such an incredible journey as it has changed from a junior school to a primary school in 2020 and now they have a nursery too!
Following their successful application for the 2024 DFE SBN Capital Grant, they were able to re-furbish areas in their school to create a new Early Years Hub to include nursery provision initially for 3 and 4 year olds and with plans to expand this to 2 year olds later in the academic year. They are delighted to be improving their school’s offer for families and the opportunity their nursery brings to build relationships, identify barriers and support learning needs early so that all children flourish and reach their full potential.
It was wonderful to welcome Terry Jermy to their school last Friday to see Ducklings’ Nursery, tour the school and meet with the School Council children. They were excited to hear that he had been a school council representative too!
They remembered well how during a parents’ evening last year a parent shared that the school’s name had just been mentioned in the House of Commons. This was a bit of a surprise at the time and they all enjoyed watching the clip on YouTube. Later the following week, they received a copy of Hansard where their school name is recorded- an important historical document which will be cherished.
Following Terry Jermy’s visit last week, they received a lovely letter which was shared with the children in Celebration Worship. The children were proud to hear his reflections of his visit to their school.
The opening of our Ducklings’ Nursery is another exciting new chapter for the school and everyone looks forward to getting to know the new nursery cohort and their families!
