Hopton CofE Primary Academy pupils, staff, Lola the school dog and their wider community came together in a truly inspiring way on Sunday 26th April, taking part in a 5k walk along Gorleston seafront to mark Autism Awareness Month.

The event brought together families and friends in a shared mission, not only to raise awareness but to promote a powerful message: acceptance matters. The atmosphere was full of positivity, encouragement and community spirit, with everyone walking side by side in support of one another.

We are incredibly proud of every single participant. Their determination, kindness, and teamwork were evident throughout the day. It was a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, including Tia’s Treasures, JayJay café and Mariners Compass Gorleston, who supported fundraising efforts on the day, and the amazing contribution from Potter’s, who matched the total raised, the event was a huge success.

Together, an incredible £1,000 was raised  This will go towards purchasing sensory circuit mats, which will be accessible across the school, supporting pupils’ sensory needs and helping to create an inclusive environment for all.
