Nar Valley Federation Day

November 5, 2026

Nar Valley Federation’s Forest School Federation day for the Summer term was an incredible day, organised by the brilliant Julie Rose and Helen Gathercole, ably backed up by Christina Maskell, Lorraine Collins and our other secretaries and the entire staff team. All 264 of our children, including all our children with complex needs in our ESP, and all of our staff team came together at Narborough this time to learn more about the wonderful world around us. Our children read stories in the forest school, made all kinds of things in the mud kitchen, dyed fabric with leaves to make patterns and pictures, created their own charcoal and then made artwork with that, made clay natural artworks, built dens and toasted marshmallows on a fire they tended and of course we ate S’mores too!

A big thank you to all our families who drove their children to Narborough, to our wonderful staff members who helped out with some taxi-ing (thanks Shelley and Angela for driving and Sarah and Elaine for accompanying!).

Our Forest School day, part of our personal development offer, created wonderful opportunities on so many levels, summed up beautifully by Stan, one of our Y3 children “My favourite part was making new friends and learning outside with them”.
