St Michaels CofE Academy Take Part in Community Art Project
January 19, 2026
In the Autumn term the children in Y3, Y4 and Y5 at St. Michaels Church of England Academy were invited to take part in a community art project. This project focused on the history of King’s Lynn, its importance as a Hanseatic League town and its links to the explorer, George Vancouver.
The children were asked to design images about the town’s past and its maritime history including images of maps, ships, sea creatures and cargo using drawing, painting, collage and storytelling techniques.
The children’s ideas were taken away to be digitalised and then mapped onto the building design so they can be projected onto Greyfriars tower, The Custom House and King’s Lynn Minster. We are proud to have contributed to this art project which is currently on display throughout the town.
