Narborough Church of England Primary Academy received special visit from Mayor

Platinum Jubilee celebration have begun with Mayor Cllr. Harry Humphrey handing out special commemorative Jubilee coins to the children of Narborough Church of England Primary Academy on Tuesday 10th May 2022.

Mrs Neary, Executive Headteacher of Narborough Church of England Primary Academy said: “It was lovely for our small family orientated village school to receive the Mayor, making our children feel important and helping them with their learning about British values and democracy in the Queen’s Jubilee year.”

Mayor Harry Humphrey said: “I was delighted to present the special Platinum Jubilee Coin to children at Narborough today. Especially satisfying was the interest that the children showed when I explained the significance of the coin and tried to give them an understanding of just how long 70 years is. I think that the children enjoyed it as did I. I also enjoyed the questions I received from the children. This commemorative coin, bearing both the Jubilee logo and the borough’s mayoral crest, was commissioned by the Borough Council to mark the historic year of the Queen’s 70 years of service, to be offered to all primary children in West Norfolk so that they will have a lasting memento of this historic year. I thank the children and staff of the school for the warm welcome I received.”

Deputy Head Pupil, Caileigh from Year 6 said: “It was interesting to find out about the Mayor’s job and what they do.  I was happy when I received the Jubilee coin”.
